Composite or pressure-treated decking?
Pressure-treated lumber costs less to install and is the more common choice in this region. It needs periodic staining or sealing to hold up well, and boards can warp, splinter, or grey over time if that maintenance gets skipped.
Composite decking costs more upfront but doesn't need staining or sealing, resists fading and splintering, and typically comes with a longer manufacturer warranty.
